Welcome to your new website! (Step1)

This is a welcome entry on your new website. The very first thing you should do is CLICK HERE to view a few short videos about using your website.

How do you learn? Visually, Auditory? Watch the videos.

Visit mySnowPro.com and click "TUTORIALS" now!!!

Do you like to read? Watch the videos anyway!

When you log in to your member area, you'll see this entry when you click "Entries" and you can edit it yourself. After you make your own entry, and place it in the "Home" category, you can change the status of this entry to "Unpublished" and it will disappear from your home page.

green-blue-black.gifWe use these to rate our tutorials and lessons for creating and editing your website. Start with the greens, and then move on to blue and black. More website lessons are always added on MySnowPro.com's tutorials section.

green-blue-black.gifThis entry appears here on the first column because I created a category called "Home" for this entry. This column will always have the last 10 entries in the "Home" category. It's important to know that you can control how much text to publish from an entry in the "Home" column.

You can edit your website by logging in to the control panel (links below and on each sidebar of your site) using your member username and password. The entry editing area can be found by clicking the "ENTRIES" button near the top left after you log in.

The actual web address is: http://mysnowpro.com/cgi-bin/mt/mt.cgi

Go there now, and create your first entry on your own website! Remember to put it in the "Home" category to have it appear in the left column. Any other category will appear in the second column, Then, you can read the "Sample Entries" that you can see in your second column to learn how to post pictures, and use the Excerpting Feature.

Have fun!

Creating Entries and Uploading Photos (Step2)

green.gifThis is another entry that you can change to "Unpublished" and keep as you create your own content. You can see that I created a category for it, called "Editing Your Website". Click the title above to see the whole entry. The second, narrower column lists the two most recent entries from your site in each of your categories. The blue header contains the name of the category and is a link to a category listing page. The title of any entry is a link to that entry's page on your website.

About Excerpts (Step3)

DSC00186.JPGHere you can see that the excerpt contains an image thumbnail. It's a pretty easy "Green Circle" technique to learn. I just used the "Upload Files" button at the top left of the control panel. green.gifI typed the whole entry in the "Extended Entry" field, then I copied some of the text and the image code and pasted it into the "Excerpt" field. I can also choose exactly how much text I want in the excerpt by placing just that much text in the "Excerpt" field.
