December 18, 2006 in Vail

Powder and Sunshine. Temps 10 to 30*. No wind. HOW GOOD IS THAT!!!
I was skiing in Vail today. Alex and I skied about 30,000 vertical feet. We skied every angle and aspect we could find. The Northwest facing slopes were excellent. i.e. Highline and Roger's Run. The most snow was to be found in the Northwoods area.
The backbowls were very good, albeit firm in the directly south facing high traffic areas. The so-so snow was easy to avoid. The good stuff was easy to spot.

Beaver Creek reported 12", Vail 6", Breck 1". Bummer on that. But it is still looking up.

Here is the snow advisory:

A SNOW ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 6 AM TUESDAY TO 6 AM MST
WEDNESDAY.

SNOWFALL AMOUNTS OF 4 TO 7 INCHES ARE EXPECTED BY EARLY WEDNESDAY
