There is nothing that truly compares to skiing in real powder. The sensations go beyond anything that we can describe to those who have not yet experienced it. Last week while guiding a group around Copper Mountain, my friend Linda experienced it for the first time after many years of skiing. After all, it takes an effort to learn, you participate in it when it's cold and snowy, mostly in the mountains where the air is thin, and with long, unwieldy planks attached to your feet by uncomfortable torture chambers for boots!
