My First Time

Flashback

I was 16 the first time I went skiing. My friends had been skiing for years and they decided it was time for me to learn. We all went to Snoqualmie pass (near Seattle) for night skiing. After getting my lift ticket and my skis we hit the chair--no rope tow for me. On the way up the chair I recieved a few pointers.

1. Put your tips together to make a pizza shape so you can slow down.

2. If you haven't stopped by the time you get to the bottom fall over.

That was the last I saw of them until the end of the evening. I fell over a lot.

I now wish that I had realized the value of taking ski lessons back then.
