This week has been a warm one. Very warm in fact. During spring break that is actually pretty nice. The week has brought lots of sun and consistent temps in the 40’s and 50’s. Firm snow in the morning, with softening snow in the afternoon. Anything facing directly south is getting beaten down.
Wear your green today. There is more green dye ingested today than anytime of the year (thank goodness). I look forward to having a little apres’ ski with all my students this spring.
I have been teaching new skiers this week. It is fun and rewarding to see people get it. Although yesterday, I had a shoulder yanked while getting off the chair. It is a little sore. I am going in to have it work on today. A little Chiro then some massage should do the trick.
I would certainly like to see a week long snow cycle. If you are coming up get you skis tuned. Sharp edges will do you some good. Also have a high humidity wax on. There is plenty of moisture in this snow.
These photos and movies are from our level 6 class last week. It was a very nice day for lessons, but the temps were about 15* cooler than this week. We skied on P7, P8, and P9. I believe at Level 6 and above we should be getting around the mountain and learning in all different types of situations.
to your sliding success,
Jon
